Hello to anyone who might be reading this. I've returned to DMusic after a long hiatus, and I've changed the artist name to Time Stands Still. You might be asking, "Why did you take all your songs off DMusic in the first place, Johnny? Do you think you're good for us?" Or maybe you're not asking that...but I'll answer anyway.
When I had my music on here as The Touch-tone Lovers, I wasn't happy with a lot of it. The only ones I liked were the ones that my friend Justin wrote lyrics for: "A Beautiful Silence" and "I Need You", as well as a cover of "Days Spent Raining" by my friends Tyler and David (see them at
http://drycen.dmusic.com). So, I decided to fix them up (re-recording vocals, guitar parts, and adjusting volume levels) and put them back up here. Now I'm a lot happier with them, and hopefully you enjoy them.
I also decided to update here today because I recorded an acoustic version of "A Beautiful Silence" this morning, which you can now find on the site (still found at
http://touchtone.dmusic.com). I didn't intend on actually making a decent recording when I started, but I really liked how it sounded...considering I record everything with a $3 microphone hooked into my computer. So, now there's an "Acoustic" section on the site, since I'd like to record some more acoustic songs. Granted, I could've just put them in "Demos", but I think acoustic songs are cool and should have their own folder. Well...actually, what do you think? Is having a seperate folder for my acoustic stuff redundant? Leave a comment and voice your opinion...
I've been having writer's block for quite a few months, so I'll probably go through my catalog of songs and see what's worth working on. I need to work with Justin sometime soon and see if we can write some new music. I'm getting a little better at recording on the computer, and I also got a better MIDI software synth, so I might possibly be able to record a decent EP...or maybe they'll just end up in the Demos section. Either way, I need to write and record, so hopefully you'll be seeing some action on here in the next few months.
